Your Voice Matters: Elmore Town Hall Renovations
Overview of the Proposed Renovations
At our December meeting, the Elmore Selectboard reviewed an exciting proposal from the Elmore Community Trust (ECT) for much-needed updates to our historic Town Hall. The ECT’s proposal is attached and can be found on the Town’s website (ElmoreVT.org). This beloved building is central to our community gatherings, and these renovations aim to preserve its historical charm while ensuring safety, accessibility, and greater usability for everyone.
The proposal includes critical upgrades to bring the building into compliance with accessibility and safety codes, such as:
- Installing ADA-compliant entrance and exit doors.
- Updating the front ramp and rear staircase.
- Addressing fire safety requirements, including relocating and adding fire extinguishers.
- Reviewing and remedying any electrical code violations.
The Selectboard will manage the project, which will be funded through public grants and overseen by licensed professionals. For a full list of proposed updates, please review the attached proposal from the ECT.
