Volunteer Opportunity: Cemetery Commission Member

Town of Elmore, Vermont
The Town of Elmore is seeking a responsible and community-minded individual to join
the Cemetery Commission.


Position Overview
The Cemetery Commission cares for the two historic cemeteries in Elmore.
Commissioners help ensure the grounds remain respectful, well-maintained, and
preserved for current and future generations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the general care and maintenance of the cemeteries by coordinating
    and supervising all activities such as lawn care and headstone repair
  • Participate in planning and decision-making for cemetery operations
  • Attend a minimum of 4 meetings per year (typically evenings)

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in community service and local history
  • Reliability and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other commission members
  • Elmore residency required

This is a volunteer position with no monetary compensation, but it offers the rewarding
opportunity to serve and protect an important part of Elmore’s heritage.
